About NLS
The Legum Baccalaureus (Latin for the) Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program at The School of Social Sciences and Humanities (S3H) was launched in 2020. Initially, the program was adopted by establishing the department of law at S3H. With an overwhelming response from all the stakeholders the management at NUST took the initiative of establishing a separate Law School i.e. the NUST Law School. This initiative allows the Law School to adapt with modern ways of legal education which includes but not restricted to the critical analysis of relevant legal issues and fostering professional learning through the different modes of clinical legal education. This initiative aligns with NUST's commitment to fostering interdisciplinary education and producing graduates with the skills needed for the evolving global landscape.
MESSAGE FROM DEAN & PRINCIPAL
Justice M. Nawaz Wahla
It has been said that those who have “been given much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
This is especially true of those entering the legal profession. Presidents, paupers, and people from all walks of life turn to lawyers with their darkest secrets and most troubling problems when those matters are too much to bear. An excellent legal education develops the intellect, skills, and confidence to address those problems boldly. The courage to defend the indefensible comes from within, but only with excellent preparation and education!
At NUST Law School (NLS), we look to develop a lawyer who is a skilled advocate, a proficient partner, and a trusted expert. A lawyer should be a sage advisor, strategist, and wise counselor. Law schools should develop those skills in their students. Abraham Lincoln said, “As a peacemaker, the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man.” You will learn to pursue accommodation and compromise at NLS while practicing principled professional behavior.
